‘OLD DOG OF THE WEEK’ FEATURES NEW PHOTOS AND A FRESH WRITE-UP FOR AN OVERLOOKED OLDIE THAT HAS BEEN ON OUR WEBSITE FOR A WHILE BUT IS STILL WAITING FOR A NEW HOME.

Please help Jasmine by sharing this page!
Happy Jasmine is a Staffy cross of about 11 years, in the care of RSPCA Millbrook in Cobham, Surrey. She can be fostered within reasonable travelling distance of the rescue so she can visit their vet or, of course, adopted to live happily ever after.

Once she trusts you, Jasmine is incredibly affectionate. She adores a fuss and cuddle and isn’t shy about trying to sneak in a kiss! It’s taken a lot of work to get her to this point; when she first arrived at RSPCA Millbrook, she disliked being handled at all. She had terribly itchy skin and was underweight. Now, after months of TLC, her carers can happily check her all over. This trust will take time to build with a new owner.

To ensure Jasmine feels safe and secure, she has some specific needs:
A Female Companion: Jasmine strongly prefers and warms up to women first. She’s looking for a home where a female owner is present to help her settle and build confidence.
An Adult-Only Home: Jasmine has had little exposure to children and was worried by a small child she encountered. To ensure she can fully relax, she needs a quiet, adult-only home with no visiting young children.
Understanding Vet Care: The veterinary clinic is still a scary place for Jasmine. She needs a patient owner who understands this fear and is willing to work with an understanding vet to build her confidence slowly.
Quiet Walks: Jasmine is best walked in quiet areas where she won’t encounter off-lead dogs. She isn’t keen on dogs getting in her face, though she can walk past them calmly at a distance. She must always be kept on-lead in public.
A Strong Handler: Like many dogs, excited to be out, Jasmine can be strong on the lead at times.

A Fabulous Garden: A large, fully enclosed garden with 6ft fencing is a must for Jasmine. Her absolute favourite thing is playing with her toys off-lead, so a secure garden is essential for her happiness.
You can watch a nice video of Jasmine playing HERE.
Her Ideal Day: Jasmine is still an active lady! She would be perfectly happy with a couple of on-lead road walks a day, combined with plenty of garden playtime.
Settling In: Jasmine needs someone at home often, especially in the beginning. She will also need a gentle refresher on her housetraining and car travel. Jasmine is a truly fantastic dog who has overcome so much. She would make a deeply loving and loyal companion for the right person.

If you can offer this sweet older girl the patient, quiet, and loving home she deserves, please contact RSPCA Millbrook below.
