This adorable pair is Sammy and Teddy, two best buddies looking for a new, loving home together with you. Meantime, they are being cared for by Jerry Green Dog Rescue in South Lincolnshire and dream of their forever home. They come as a pair; where one goes, the other follows (especially if there’s a treat involved).
Sammy is a sweet and gentle 8-year-old Chihuahua and his younger mate is Teddy, a cheerful, 5-year-old Pug Cross. They’ve been through a lot together and they’re inseparable, so they’re looking for a special someone who has room in their heart (and on their sofa!) for both of them.
Life’s been a little quiet for Sammy and Teddy. They haven’t had much experience with the outside world or regular walks, so they’re taking baby steps when it comes to exercise. Having a secure garden to explore at their own pace would be a dream while building up their confidence. Some fresh air, a safe space and each other – that’s their kind of paradise.
Sammy and Teddy are not used to being left alone for long stretches and spent too many lonely hours in their previous home. While they can be left for short periods up to 2 hours, they’re happiest when there is company around, whether it’s snuggles on the couch or just someone nearby to talk to them gently. They’d like to be the only pets in the home where any children are aged 14+.
Sammy and Teddy are still learning the ropes when it comes to house-training, so they’ll need a bit of guidance and easy access to a garden while they figure it all out. A quiet, calm home with understanding humans would suit them perfectly. They get a bit spooked by loud noises and would prefer not to live next to any barky neighbours.
With a little patience and a lot of love, Sammy and Teddy have so much potential to become the most loyal and affectionate little companions. If you’re looking for two handsome souls to share your home, your garden and your heart with, they might just be the boys for you.
