Oldies Club at Crufts & PupAid Cheque Presentation
Oldies Club were lucky enough to be invited back to Crufts to share a stand with our patron Marc Abraham on Saturday 12th March. 6 volunteers and 5 gorgeous Oldies (& 1 younger associate) travelled to the NEC to help promote older dogs and fundraise. We decorated the stand with our banner, posters and display board. The dogs, looking very fetching in their bandanas, were on hand to offer kisses & cuddles whilst our supporters handed out leaflets, collected donations and chatted to anyone who stopped at the stand. Oldies Club were presented with a cheque for £500 by Marc. This […]

Blue’s urgent operation: please will you donate?
Blue, is a 13 year old rather handsome, male Border Collie, who recently came into the care of Oldies Club. He arrived with a large lump under his tail, which was growing fast and really bothering him :-( Oldies Club arranged for a vet to look at the lump as a matter of urgency. The vet diagnosed it as a perineal hernia which would need a major and urgent operation to repair it, with total costs likely to be around £1,000! Blue’s operation went ahead and he is doing well – though the operation was more complicated than expected and everyone […]

Lucky Larry – 15 year old poundie saved!
Oldies Club was contacted recently about a Collie cross who was in a pound and out of time (legally, even a healthy stray dog can be put down if he/she remains unclaimed by their owner after seven days). This poor old chap was estimated to be around 15 years of age and faced being put down. We are very pleased to tell you that due to the combined efforts of the initial contact, Oldies Club, a fantastic transport volunteer and wonderful fosterers, this lovely old boy was rescued from the pound just in time and is now settling into his foster […]

We’d like to apologise to users of our website who have been trying to read about the lovely oldies needing homes, only to find that the website was down for a day or so. Sponsor Dog Secret Santa Scheme
29/10/10 – We have received such tremendous response to this and all our dogs are now in the process of being allocted so we wont be taking on anymore Secret Santas. Sometimes Oldies Club comes across dogs who – because of the physical or emotional damage they have suffered, or due to terminal illness – cannot be rehomed. In these cases, which have sadly become more frequent, we endeavour to provide long-term foster placements with experienced carers who will ensure these oldies know a loving, secure home for their final years. We thought that it would be a nice idea for […]

Sponsored Fright Night for Oldies Club
Whittington Castle is well known for its paranormal activites. The castle is steeped in historical tales of bitter warfare, treachery, death, myths, legends and many ghosts and strange happenings. Figures seen time and time again by visitors include a hooded man, a phantom blacksmith and ghostly children. Three Oldies Club supporters Amy, Michelle & Caroline would love to raise money for the dogs by putting their fears aside and staying in Whittington Castle over the Halloween weekend when they say the veil between the two worlds is at its thinnest. If you would like to sponsor them to have the living daylights scared […]

This money is already being put to good use allowing us to bring in a terminally ill Collie. Lenny has an inoperable tumour and the money will be put towards his vet bills for the time he will […]
