4/7/10 Very sad news about Bonnie. She recently became unwell and was found to have a very aggressive tumour and the kindest thing was to put her to sleep. Rest peacefully, Bonnie.

Bonnie is a beautiful 9 or 10 year old black and tan Labrador x Rottweiler lady. She has been returned to the Ark on the Lincolnshire coast after about 2 years in her new home, due to the unfortunate ill-health of one of her owners.

Bonnie is a fairly calm girl who would suit a family home or being a companion to an active retired couple. She has been returned to the Ark through no fault of her own; it’s just one of those sad cases where her owners can no longer keep her.

Bonnie is lovely, fun girl who still enjoys playing ball. She pulls a bit on the lead but is fine offlead – although her recall would benefit from a bit of work. She seems to be fine with other dogs.

In her original home, Bonnie lived happily with children and cats, but in her recent home she hasn’t had contact with children and has got out of the habit of liking cats. However, with someone experienced at introducing a dog into a home with cats, and with careful introductions, perhaps Bonnie could be trained to remember how to behave with a resident cat. Bonnie’s a very friendly girl who loves people. She is housetrained and can be left for a reasonable time. She can be possessive with her food though so needs to be given her own space at her meal times.

Bonnie is fit and well and she is neutered and vaccinated.
