Please meet this very sweet and handsome boy Shep!  He is a lovely short haired black and tan German Shepherd.  He is 9 years old, very sweet natured and loving and at present, in the care of the German Shepherd Rescue in Newport.

This lovely boy originally came over to the UK with his friend Sorina who he was very close to. They shared a kennel together until Sorina found a loving home, so its now time Shep did too.

Before arriving in this country, Shep did not have the best life and was found as a stray before being taken to a public shelter where he never received any care or affection.  You would never know what he has been through when you meet him though, as he really is a friendly chap who loves all his human friends whatever their size.

Shep is looking for a quieter home and would prefer a home without any young children, but older teenagers should be fine.  He would also prefer a home without any other pets too even though he got on well with his previous companion, he has been known to lunge at dogs he does not know.

He is in good health for his age and has been neutered, micro-chipped and his vaccinations are all up to date.

Shep would enjoy a couple of nice walks everyday so he can enjoy exploring all the world around him.  He walks well on the lead, but does need to wear a Dogmatic headcollar whilst out on his walks.

What Shep needs most is someone to show him the world is not such a bad place after all and who will give him all the love and affection that he has missed out on over the years.

So if you think you could give gorgeous Shep the home he deserves and would like to find out more, then please contact GSDR by filling in an adoption/foster form here

Please make sure to mention that you saw handsome Shep on the Oldies Club website
