29/8/19 – Penny is now rehomed!
Penny, a lovely little 8-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, was an unclaimed stray in South Glos. Dog Pound and so Starfish Dog Rescue don’t know her history, but she was very thin and had obviously been used for breeding.
She is now being fostered in Gloucestershire and is proving to be a lovely, easy dog to live with. She has settled into home life very easily and is happy to spend her days snoozing on the sofa with you, in between walks and time in the garden. She is clean, sleeps through the night, walks well on her lead and is fine meeting other dogs out.
She is a healthy little girl and really enjoys being out on walks so would suit an active person – she is quite young for a terrier still. She has not been let off the lead yet as it’s not certain she would come back. She is a typical terrier out and about and loves sniffing around in the hedges and is very alert to squirrels etc. in the woods. In the garden she loves hunting around in the bushes and looking behind the shed and so she will need a very secure garden.
She has a sweet temperament and would suit a quiet house with an active older couple or person. She is living with teenagers with no problems but any children in her new home would need to be 16+ as she wants a quiet life.
Penny is not suitable to live with other dogs as her first foster home had three dogs and Penny did not cope very well with them. But on walks she totally ignores other dogs and is fine when meeting dogs, but in the confined area of a home she finds this difficult.

Penny is now recovering from being spayed, and she has started her vaccinations and been flea-ed and wormed.
Penny is a super little dog who has probably not had the best of lives, but it has not spoiled her temperament nor affected her trust in people.
