Gorgeous Bracken came into the care of Starfish Dog Rescue after being retired as a gun dog. He is being fostered in an adult home with other dogs in Gloucestershire.

Bracken is a lovely, liver and white Springer Spaniel and he is 11 years old. He is the most wonderful dog with an amazing temperament and character. Everything is very new to him at the moment, but he did spend his first 7 years living in a home rather than a kennel so he has adjusted to home life very easily.

Bracken does worry about some things as this life is very different to the one he knew, but he is slowly getting used to not having to do a job anymore. He has been perfectly clean in the house and gentle with the other dogs. He just wants to be loved. Bracken is nearly completely deaf, but out on walks he is fine though you do have to keep him in sight. He walks perfectly on the lead, travels well although he does look a bit worried.

Bracken is a very gentle dog and will want a quiet retirement home with people who have the time and, mostly importantly, the love – he needs to be the centre of someone’s world. He is still very fit and loves his walks in the countryside. He could live with other dogs or as an only dog.

Bracken has been to the Vets and he does have severe ear infections which he is being treated for and will be going back to the Vets after 10 days. Hopefully, this is improving and will make him hear better. He has two infected teeth that have also been removed and he has now been castrated.
