07/08/2023: Bernie has been adopted! Hooray!
Bernie is an almost-8-year-old Labrador Cross who is at Jerry Green’s South Lincolnshire centre in Algarkirk.
He is a lovely active boy who is looking for an adult family that will give him all the cuddles and attention he desires and deserves. Bernie loves toys, and his favourite things to play with are tennis balls. He will always greet his friends with a toy in his mouth! Bernie needs a home with a safe and secure garden where he can play with his toys. He would also like to have a nice comfy sofa to enjoy, as he very much appreciates some home comforts.
Beautiful Bernie sadly had a rough start in life, and although he is a loved and spoilt boy now, he does carry the damage from his previous life. He has some scarring on his back legs which has caused some bald patches, and these patches might not ever be fluffy again. But he isn’t letting a few hairless patches get him down when he has tennis balls to play with and a fun new life to look forward to.
If you are interested in adopting Bernie, you will need to visit him at the centre a few times to make sure that he feels comfortable with you and wants to be your special boy. It would therefore be helpful if you don’t live too far away. Bernie does enjoy a trip out in the car, and he can happily be left for 2-3 hours once settled in his new home.
Above all, Bernie needs a home with calm people, over the age of 18. He would like to be your only pet.
