5/11/2023 We were going to feature Rae as our Old Dog of the Week, but we’ve heard the wonderful news that she has a new home lined up. We are so pleased for her!

——————–

Beautiful girl Rae is 10-year-old and been in kennels for far too long! She’s available to life-time foster as Nowzad are so keen to see her settled at last. She’s at their kennels in Hampshire and will want to meet her new people a few times there before she commits herself.

Rae was with the Nowzad rescue in Afghanistan since she was very young but was chosen to be evacuated to the UK in 2021. She does need a special sort of home and she’s such a sweet girl, she deserves the best!

Rae is nervous of men and wants a quiet, adult-only, female-only home. She wants to be the only pet at home too. She travels well in the car and is good on the lead but isn’t huge fan of walks, certainly not long ones. She’s a home-body and prefers to potter about the garden instead. She’s wary of other dogs and finds it altogether easier to spend time in the garden, especially when it’s sunny and she can sunbathe!

Rae is an affectionate girl once she knows you. She is worried about strangers, including visitors to the home. She will want to be able to hide if people do come round. She would suit owners who have experience with nervous dogs and will allow her to adapt to new things in her own time. Her happy, loving nature will soon shine through in the right environment and with gentle encouragement.

She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped, and she is up to date with flea and worming treatment. She had some surgery a little while ago but is now recovered and ready for a happy retirement. There is a short video of Rae on her Nowzad profile page.
