Dear Darcy is sadly looking for a new home with the help of Chilterns Dog Rescue Society after living very happily in her first home for more than 8 years. Her owners passed away and Darcy was offered a new home with a kindly neighbour who knew her well. This lady now has urgent family commitments overseas and was devastated to be unable to take Darcy with her. Darcy may not be one of the most beautiful dogs in the world, but she is certainly one of the kindest and richly deserves a happy retirement.

Darcy is a blue Staffordshire Bull Terrier and is 11 years old. Having lived most of her life in a flat with access to only a balcony, Darcy would love a new home with a secure garden to explore and laze in. She is active for her years and also enjoys her walks and getting out and about every day.

Darcy is a very sociable, independent, well-mannered lady who takes to new people very quickly. She loves making new friends and being petted. She walks calmly alongside other dogs, although she is used to being the only dog in the home and this may suit her best. She is used to being left alone for several hours and has never been noisy or destructive, she just curls up in her bed.

Darcy can be strong on the lead and, in the short time she has been at the Rescue Centre, she has benefitted from training sessions so she does not pull so much. She has done a little travelling by car, initially being a bit anxious and then settling down to enjoy the ride. Darcy is used to teenagers but has no experience of being around younger children, cats or other small pets.

Darcy is currently in season so cannot be spayed until the summer. Her ears were a bit waxy on arrival so they were cleaned and require no further treatment. She has no other known health issues and is hoping the right new person will be excitedly waiting for her when she is ready to leave the Rescue Centre towards the end of March.
