3/4/24 – It’s great news! Sandy’s found a home!
—————-

Nirina Dog Adoptions are urgently looking for either a permanent or foster home for lovely Sandy, a 9-year-old Crossbreed lady who is very beautiful. She’d had a tough old time in Bosnia before coming to the UK and sharing a proper home with another, resident dog. Unfortunately, that dog’s health is declining and the rescue feel it best all round if Sandy was moved, hopefully to her forever home!

Sandy wants a quiet, adult only home but she would enjoy having one or two compatible doggy siblings. She’s timid and wary of new things so her new family must accomodate this and respect her need for space sometimes. She has gained confidence amazingly since being in foster and is often playful these days!

Sandy had previously been in a shelter for a long time and was very shy and alarmed by things most dogs are used to. Her foster carer has worked wonders with her by taking a gently-gently approach.

Sandy now wears a collar and accepts a lead which was unthinkable to her at first. She still isn’t comfortable with lead walks and that’s something her new owner/fosterer can work on gradually. For now, she’s content with a good-sized secure garden to play and snuffle about in.

Sandy is such a lovely dog and will be the perfect addition to a nicely dog-oriented home. She’s looking for owners who have experience with rescue, or at least nervous, dogs. She just needs love and understanding to continue to become more sunny by the day!
