Gorgeous golden oldie Lucy Lou came into the care of Dogs Trust Kenilworth in the West Midlands via the pound. Unfortunately, she arrived in quite poor condition with an impacted coat and sore weeping eyes which needed surgery for Entropion (inward growing eye lashes).
Lucy Lou is a 10 year old Akita and is loving being able to see properly finally after the surgery. However, she is still currently on eye medication for an immune eye condition which she will need for life. Of course, being an older girl, she is also on pain medication to help with stiffness in her legs. She’s an absolute angel taking the eye medication and is truly the sweetest lady despite all she’s been through.
Lucy Lou is currently living in a foster home in Kenilworth where she’s settled right into home life. She’s housetrained and happy to be left for a few hours and loves greeting visitors (and checking for some snacks of course). She enjoys playing with toys and will choose her favourite from her toy box. She knows a sit, wait and lie down and will politely and gently take treats from you.
Lucy Lou is enjoying all the comforts of home life, but most importantly is enjoying all the sunbathing in her very own garden. Lucy is a gentle older lady who is looking for a peaceful retirement home where she can relax and enjoy the life she deserves.
Ideally, Lucy Lou is looking for a home as the only pet as she isn’t a big fan of dogs in her space. She loves relaxing in the garden and sunbathing and will pick out her favourite toys to play with from her toy box.
Lucy Lou would like a home with slightly older children aged 12+ just because she’s an older girl and likes the quiet life.
