Bella and Ethel are sweet, affectionate dogs aged 11 and 7 years respectively, who are now looking for a forever home together through private rehoming. Currently living in Darley Dale, Derbyshire, they both originated separately from rescue organisations but have since become the very best of friends, love each other dearly, and are deeply bonded.
Bella is a Puggle and Ethel a true Pug. They are at their happiest when surrounded by their humans, enjoying plenty of love and cuddles and snoozing contentedly on the sofa.
Their ideal home would be one without young children; any children in the household should be older and understand how to be gentle and respectful with senior dogs like Bella and Ethel. They would thrive in a calm, peaceful forever home with no other dogs or cats, where they can enjoy lots of love, attention, and companionship.
Ethel and Bella do not need lots of exercise, but enjoy gentle walks. Bella prefers to stay on her lead for walks as her recall isn’t great, and she can bark a little when other dogs approach. Ethel is fine with other dogs and loves a little run off her lead. They would adore a little garden to call their own where they can play together and explore.
Both are different characters. Ethel is gentle and sometimes a little shy but will gradually trust those around her when shown love and kindness. Bella is fun loving, enjoys her walks, treats and squeaky toys. Once she knows you she is very gentle natured and loyal.
Ethel and Bella are fine to be left together at home whilst you are out. Currently they will happily settle for up to 6 hours, but they do love it more when you are around to give them lot of kisses and cuddles !
Ethel has dogs steps currently to access the sofa at home as she has had pins in her knees a few years ago as she had luxating patella so can’t be taken for long walks as she gets stiff. But she has had no issues since with her legs except for if she walks too far or for too long in cold weather.
Both travel well in the car but Bella will bark when arriving somewhere due to excitement.
Both ladies are spayed and currently being given CBD oil for stiff joints which seems to be working really well for them. Neither like loud noises or fireworks and Bella barks when the doorbell rings.
Ethel and Bella have been much loved pets and their owner wants to ensure they go to an equally loving forever home. They ask that any prospective adopter makes at least 2 pre adoption visits so that Ethel and Bella get to know and trust their new humans. Its suggested that their new adopters live within 1 hour of their current home.
