Lark is an adorable 9-year-old Labrador looking for his forever home through Starfish Dog Rescue and currently being fostered in a family home in Gloucestershire.
Lark has lived his life as a working gundog before being rescued by Starfish Dog Rescue. At last he is in their care and is now looking for a loving home where he can be part of a family and cherished as he deserves.
Described as gentle, quiet and unassuming, it is clear that he has lived a hard and difficult life. His ears bear the marks of injuries, possibly from an attack by another dog. In spite of his sad existence he is such a dear and kind boy who now needs to be spoilt and cherished by loving humans.

He settled well into his foster home and initially did not like to let his humans out of his sight, but as he gradually felt safe his confidence has started to grow. He is living with a young boy and he has been gentle and brilliant in their company. However any loud or sudden movements do frighten him, so a calm and peaceful household is needed, where his owners are prepared to take things slowly and give Lark the space and quiet he needs to feel secure. See how loving Lark is here.
One of Lark’s biggest milestones during his first week was choosing to lie in a dog bed. It may seem like such a small thing, but for a dog whose life has been kennels and straw, it was a huge step. He has clearly decided that soft beds are rather nice after all. He has also been enjoying walks with his foster family and gets on very well with the resident dog. Check out Lark being a good boy on his walk here.

Lark asks for very little, is beautifully mannered and is now enjoying the comforts of family life that he has missed for so many years.
It is felt that Lark would be happiest in a quieter adult home, although he would be absolutely fine with sensible visiting grandchildren. He could happily live as an only dog or with another calm, gentle dog, with a steady female companion probably being his ideal match.
Lark sleeps well through the night and has quickly mastered house training.
He has been neutered, started his vaccinations, had a dental scale and polish, been treated for ear infections, and is up to date with his flea and worm treatments.
