Poor Megan was found limping and starving by the side of a road in Romania. Her hip was broken and she had a bullet in her leg where she’d also been shot. If ever a dog deserves a change of luck and oodles of love it’s this one. She’s now happily and safely cared for in the U.K. in a foster home in Norwich, Norfolk provided by Safe Rescue and looking for the loving home she deserves.
Megan is a medium-sized Crossbreed aged around 7 years old. She was luckily rescued and taken to a vet. Her hip was broken and she had surgery to fix this; the shot gun pellet was left as it was decided it wasn’t causing harm where it is. As if that wasn’t enough, her blood tests showed that she also had heartworm. She was treated for this too.
Megan’s luck began to change after being found and rescued but this change isn’t complete until she finds her forever home and family. She is an absolute delight and it’s amazing why she still loves people after all she’s been through, but she really does. She is friendly, affectionate, gentle and just a pure joy.
Megan gets on really well with other dogs but could also be the only dog in the home and could live with respectful children aged 10 plus. She has not been tested with cats.
Since Megan’s rescue, she tested positive for heartworm. She has since completed successful treatment and is doing well. As a precaution, she will continue on a routine monthly anti-parasitic tablet, which will be provided and sent with her to her adoptive home. There will be no cost to adopters for this ongoing care.
Please note – Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used.
