If you were describing a calm, quiet and easy dog, his name would be Shadow. Under the care of Heathlands Animal Sanctuary, he is a gentle 12yr old Collie Cross, who is predominantly deaf, and looking for a calm and peaceful forever home in which to spend his retirement years.
Shadow is generally fine with most dogs and could live with another calm and quiet dog, but couldn’t cope with a dog bouncing on him and wanting to play. He could also be an only boy so he can get all of the attention. He is not cat tested, but this could be arranged with the rescue, and whilst he is good with children, it is felt that because of his age, and impaired hearing, visiting children would be best for him.
He loves a little snooze next to you on the sofa, and because he cannot hear you, he likes to know where you are, so will settle quietly next to you. He’s good on the lead and travels well in the car. At 18kg he is not too heavy to lift in and is happy to come on little trips out with you. He can also be left for short periods once he has settled in.
Shadow is in good health, has had a dental and good mobility. He could benefit from a little muscle building, but this is easily done with some nice walks.
Shadow is so adorable and wants for nothing, apart from a calm and quiet home, in which he can be spoilt and loved.
