Rambo is the gentlest and most loving Beagle you could ever meet. At 13 years old, he still has so much love to give and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, affectionate friend. Due to a change in their circumstances, his family had to make the difficult decision to hand him over to Oldies Club so that he can find a new forever home where he’ll be cherished. He is currently being cared for in Oldies Club foster care in Bedfont, Middlesex, where he’s waiting patiently for the right person or family to come along.
Introduction: Despite his name, Rambo is definitely a lover not a fighter ! (what would you name him ? ) He loves having his family close by, and thrives on regular affection. He likes regular gentle walks and could live with a similar energy dog and respectful children. If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet-natured companion who just wants love, comfort, and a cosy place to rest, Rambo could be the perfect match
Settled well into foster: Rambo took about a week to settle into his foster home. Initially a little nervous, and who could blame him, but it didn’t take him long to feel at home.

Can be left on his own: Rambo is comfortable being left alone for a few hours and will settle when you pop out for a bit.
Likes his humans around: Rambo would not suit a home where his family leave him to go to work. A couple of hours is fine but no longer. Perhaps a retired/semi retired person/couple, or if you work from home you are looking for a little co worker to snooze at your feet.
Gets on well with dogs: Rambo is not currently living with any other dogs, nor did he in his original home, but as he gets on well with other dogs out and about, it’s thought he could live with another similar energy dog.

Can’t live with cats: Rambo isn’t living with a cat but does bark at them when he sees them outside, so for safety sake a cat free home is sought.
Could live with children: Although Rambo isn’t living with children he is fine with the fosterers visiting grandchildren aged 4 and 11yrs, so could possibly live with respectful youngsters that understand he is an older chap and needs his space and peace.
Can be a bit stubborn on the lead: Rambo has only been walked on his lead whilst in foster. He responds to his name and can be a bit stubborn if he decides he wants to go a different way than you had planned ! A little nudge on the bottom and he gets the message though. He is currently enjoying 3-4 x 20 minute walks a day and really loves large expanses of grass as opposed to pavement walks, so would love a rural home or one near a park where he could have his daily walks.
Good in the car: Rambo travels very well in the car and would love to accompany his new family on days out.
Rambo’s favourite pastimes: He’s a big fan of sleeping ! If he’s in the right mood perhaps a bit of play but he hasn’t got a particular toy that he likes. Treats are also top of the list.
Not frightened of anything: Rambo doesn’t appear to be frightened of much, despite being a very gentle boy, except perhaps the vets.
Sleeps well: Rambo sleeps very well, currently sleeping in his own comfy dog bed in the bedroom, but is also a big fan of the human bed !

Rambo’s perfect home: A home in the countryside or near a large park with a family where someone is at home during the day.
Health notes: Rambo is not currently being treated for any health issues. He has had over 20 teeth out and is on a soft food diet. There were markers on a recent blood test regarding his liver, but the vet was not concerned, and said he may need a liver scan at some point in the future. Rambo has a small growth on his lip, but the vet was not concerned about it, and said it was likely benign. Rambo is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated.

Rambo can be rehomed anywhere on the UK mainland – the closer to his foster home the better – subject to a satisfactory home visit. Note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to collect him.
If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
