Jimmie is a big, bear-like dog with a gentle soul. At 8 years old and around 35kg, he’s a solid, cuddly companion. Currently in the care of Heathlands Animal Sanctuary, Jimmie is being looked after in a foster home in Hertfordshire, where he’s enjoying a relaxed, home environment.
Despite his size, Jimmie has a warm and affectionate nature. He’s at an age where he appreciates the quieter side of life—lovely walks, cosy naps, and spending time with his people. He would suit a home that can offer him stability, kindness, and plenty of love.
Jimmie is a gorgeous gentle boy that loves his slow walks and snoozing at home in equal measures. He is well behaved in the home and is currently living with other dogs so could happily do so again, or also be the only dog. So beautifully natured, even being gentle with puppies that he has shared his home with. Jimmie could live with respectful children aged 8yrs and over.
Jimmie isn’t into long walks or hiking, preferring to sniff and plod his way along at his own pace. He’s good in the car and travels well, currently using a ramp to get into the boot, or can climb into the rear footwell and then onto the back seat if that is easier for you. If you do need to leave Jimmie whilst you go out he is perfectly fine and settles for a few hours.
Jimmie is currently on a low fat diet and a joint supplement, but is otherwise in good condition for his age and size considering the condition he arrived at the rescue in. If you a lover of big ‘ol softie dogs then Jimmie could be your boy !
