Golden oldie Riley is looking for his forever home after being found wandering dangerously close to a busy road. After speaking with his owner, Celandine Wood Animal Rescue’s offer of help was accepted and he’s now being cared for in a foster home in Broughton, Lincolnshire.
Riley is an approximately 10 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, but don’t let his age fool you! This handsome Staffy still has plenty of life in him, a spring in his step and loves getting out and about. He walks beautifully on the lead and thoroughly enjoys having some safe off-lead time during his walk. As with any rescue dog, his recall is something his new family will need to continue working on, but he’s already shown what a willing and enjoyable walking companion he can be.
At home, Riley is happiest having a little potter around before settling down for a well-earned snooze and would make a wonderful companion. He is a gentle, loving and friendly boy who has done absolutely nothing wrong.
Riley could live with other calm dogs (subject to successful introductions), dog-savvy cats and dog-savvy, older children aged 13+. He is currently enjoying foster life in Broughton with two other dogs and a cat.

“Riley is a very sweet older gentleman who just wants a sofa and some company. He’s house-trained, quiet and super affectionate. He is the epitome of ‘just five more minutes’ when it comes to napping and loves nothing more than a cuddle before taking himself off for another snooze.
On walks, he prefers a nice gentle plod and, when let off lead in secure spaces, he doesn’t go too far – just far enough to investigate all the interesting smells!
He’s been very neutral around my two dogs and cat. He could absolutely take or leave their company, but he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He’s an absolute pleasure to have around.”
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who asks for very little other than a comfy sofa, some gentle walks, plenty of cuddles and someone to share his days with, Riley could be your perfect match.
