Buddy (Kerry Greyhounds, fostered Norfolk)
2/9/14 – We just had this sad update from Kerry Greyhounds: ‘Poor Buddy had a home offer but before he could go he became unwell and was diagnosed with Hepatic Lymphoma last week. He deteriorated very quickly and had to see a vet on Sunday as an emergency. Unfortunately the vet recommended that Buddy was euthanased, it was a very sad day for us all.’

Teddy (South Yorkshire English Springer Spaniel Rescue)
12/10/14 Very sadly, Teddy has passed away. He was found to have a tumour :(

Granny (Four Paws Animal Rescue, fostered South Wales)
26/9/14 – We have been told that Granny sadly had to be put to sleep due to her mammary tumours :( Sleep tight, gentle girl.

Tara (Stray Aid, fostered Durham)
17/8/14 Such sad news. Poor Tara was found to have a tumour and has had to be put to sleep. :(

Pixie (Greyhound Rescue Shropshire and Borders)
18/6/14 Very sad news. Pixie has died of suspected heart failure. :(

Billy (Moorlands Rescue, Shropshire)
17/8/14 Sad news about lovely old Billy. His hips became so painful that he couldn’t stand and the kindest things was to put him to sleep. Sweet dreams now Billy.

Gorgeous George (Oldies Club Sponsor Dog)
George is 13 year old Yorkshire Terrier cross who came into Oldies Club care after being found as a stray and handed in at a vets. He was in a sorry state when found.

Alayna (Poodles in Need, fostered Oxfordshire)
13/5/14 – We just received the sad news that Alayna had to be put to sleep due to health issues. Sleep peacefully, little one.

Elvis, the King, not a Hound Dog (Oldies Club, fostered Somerset)
8/3/14 We are so sad to have to update with the news that Elvis’s pain from his back could no longer be controlled and he has had to be put to sleep to prevent him suffering. He had proved himself to be a very special old chap and his foster carers are so upset to have lost him. Our thoughts are with them.

Border Terrier Sam (Oldies Club, fostered Surrey)
26/1/14 Dear Sam has sadly had to be put to sleep following a stroke. Our thoughts are with his wonderful family and we would like to thank them for giving Sam such a super time.

16/1/14 – We just heard the sad news that Reddie has lost his fight for life. He was very much loved in his foster home. Sleep tight, old boy.

Mika (SOS Animals UK, kennelled Derbyshire)
14/12/13 Poor Mika has sadly had to be put to sleep because of her tumours and other medical problems. Rest peacefully now Mika.

Bob the ‘Sausage’ Dog… (Oldies Club)
17/9/13 We’ve had to say goodbye to little Bob the sausage dog. He will be very much missed. :(

Gracie (Dunroamin K9 Rescue, fostered Nottinghamshire)
9.6.13 Sadly, little Gracie became very ill and had to be put to sleep. Our thoughts are with her fosterers.

Sophie (Dogs Trust, Glasgow)
27/9/13 – Sad news from Dogs Trust Glasgow – ‘Sophie has sadly passed away. Her back end deteriorated badly and she had to be put to sleep as she couldn’t walk but her favourite carer and favourite volunteer cuddled her and comforted her and said their goodbyes. It was very peaceful and dignified, as she deserved.’ Run free, Sophie.

Asha (Rescue Remedies, Surrey)
27/6/13 – Sad news from Rescue Remedies: ‘So sorry to have to tell you that Asha went to Rainbow Bridge today. Sadly he had a mass on his upper front leg and he was struggling to walk. The vet agreed it was better to let him slip away without pain. Thankfully he had 10 months before he died in a wonderful foster home.’

Ben (Stray Dogs Sanctuary, kenneled Devon)
16/5/13 – We just had this sad news about Ben: ‘I’m afraid I have sad news about Ben. He has been on two courses of antibiotics for an infection, but they have not worked ,so the vet has carried out further tests and found that he has bone cancer, so has decided that the kindest thing to do is to put Ben to sleep.’
