1/4/2010 Poor Evie didn’t make it to a new home. We’ve had this sad update from Rescue Remedies … Sadly Evie’s tumour worsened and her health deteriorated. We had to make the decision to put her to sleep. She was loved by us all and the kennels she was in was owned by a Rottie fan who made her last days with us very comfortable. Run free Evie :(

Evie is a very sweet and easy going Rottweiler girl who is in a sad situation. She was picked up as a stray and unfortunately ended up in a pound. She’s now in the care of Rescue Remedies in Surrey and hoping to find a special home very soon.

Evie has cancer and she had an operation to remove a large tumour from her chest wall, but unfortunately more smaller tumours have appeared since then. This is obviously going to shorten her life, so Rescue Remedies are appealing for a special person to come forward and offer Evie a long term foster home for whatever time she has left.

When she first arrived in rescue, Evie was quite down and even stopped eating for a while. However, a week in foster care was enough to perk her up and the change in her demeanour was wonderful to see. She has a special friend, her toy rubber chicken, who she carries around everywhere and proudly offers to anyone she meets.

Evie is approx 7-8 years old and she has a very loving and laid-back personality. She’s intelligent, approachable and very welcoming of all visitors. Sadly though, because her foster home was only available for one week, she’s now back in kennels where she sits alone with her toy chicken.

Evie just needs a good diet and a peaceful home environment without young children. She’d like a nice garden she can potter around in and someone special to give her the companionship she deserves.
