3/1/19 – Lovely Barney has found a new home thanks to his appearance on the Oldies Club website!

Barney is a very handsome, 11 year old Cocker Spaniel boy who is being rehomed privately due to his owner’s working commitments. He is in Devizes, Wiltshire and is looking for a new, loving home, ideally with a retired couple who have lots of time and love to give to him.
Barney is spending much of the day alone and, although he’s great at being left on his own and he doesn’t bark or make a fuss, his owner feels it’s not fair on him to be alone all day at this stage of his life. He lives for his people, food, love, fuss and attention.
Barney still has lots of energy and is good with kids. He’s fine with other calm dogs in his own home but does bark at other dogs on walks if he’s on the lead. He’s also good with cats if they ignore him and don’t run.
Barney is generally happy to do most things as long as he’s with his people. He travels well in the car and is good at the groomers. He’s also used to going into kennels. Barney would make a really loving companion for a retired person or couple. He would also be a great family pet but, at this stage of his life, retired people would suit him better.
Like lots of dogs, Barney is doesn’t like it when he needs medication administered and, of course, the vet, big baby that he is. He is prone to ear wax build up and he’s going deaf; his ears are a weakness like with a lot of older Cockers. He can get some mild eye problems and needs them cleaned regularly. Apart from that, he has had no health problems. Barney is neutered, microchipped and all vaccinations are up-to-date.
Barney is being rehomed privately by his owner, Sophie, who has confirmed that she would take him back if his new home didn’t work out for any reason. Prospective adopters will be home-checked.
