22/4/18 – Brilliant news! Shane has been adopted after being spotted on the Oldies Club website. We are delighted for this lovely lad!

—————————–

Shane is an adorable 10 year old Staffy boy who needs a caring permanent home ASAP. He is temporarily in a Rescue Remedies foster home in Staines, Surrey, but he can’t stay there much longer and might have to go back into kennels, which is a completely unsuitable environment for poor Shane as he has issues with his back.

Shane has a combination of spinal conditions that result in him being less aware of the placement of his back legs and paws, which gives him a strange gait, and he also has a curving spine and inflammation of the vertebra. The vet said that Shane’s body is working to fuse the affected section section of his back and then it will settle, and so Shane will then function well but with a stiffened back. Due to his special needs, kennels is no place for sweet Shane and he needs a comfortable forever home urgently.

Shane is a dear little boy with lots of energy and is very loving. He can be a bit all over the place but he really enjoys running around. He is desperate for human attention and you always get a wonderful welcome from Shane. He wants to be rehomed as an only dog. Shane is fine to be left on his own for up to 4 hours.

Here is a short video showing how good Shane is on the lead:

And here is a short video of Shane enjoying a treat in the garden:

The following is from Shane’s temporary foster carers:

“Shane is very loving, extremely well mannered and docile. Due to his Spondylitis he can only go for short distance walks but he does thoroughly enjoy them and is extremely obedient on his lead. He loves a cuddle just as much as he loves his food. Shane also travels well in the car. We can only say wonderful things about Shane as he is an absolute delight. He does love company, although more of the human kind than the canine. Shane would flourish in a home where he is the only dog and with a family who can invest in him with lots of time and love.”

“He is such a laid back pooch and no trouble at all in our home. He has really settled in to family life with us. He has gained so much confidence since being with us and is so very gentle and friendly with everyone he meets. He loves his food but is very good around food. His coat is now shiny and he is just the right weight. He has a very relaxed manner around the home and at night he sleeps the whole night through. I would keep him in a heartbeat but, due to family ill health, this unfortunately is not an option for me. I would dearly love to see him in his forever home as I can’t let Shane go back into kennels as he doesn’t do very well in them and has come on so well being with a family.”

“If you are looking for a truly amazing companion, Shane will not let you down. Please please come forward and offer this boy a loving home were he will be warm and safe as this boy definitely deserves a seat on his forever sofa.”
