12/7/18 – Tilly has found a new home!

——————-

Tilly is an affectionate little 11 year old Jack Russell X Yorkshire Terrier in the care of Chilterns Dog Rescue Society in Tring, Hertfordshire. She had lived in a quiet home with an elderly lady for the last 9 years. Sadly, when the lady passed away, none of the family could offer to take Tilly.

On arriving she was described as loving, cuddly and affectionate with people she knew and OK with visiting grandchildren, but anxious in new situations, with male dogs and when travelling by car. However, since coming to CDRS her whole world has opened up. Tilly has lost her excess weight, gained in confidence and has started loving walks in the woods!

She is thoroughly enjoying meeting new people and doing new things. She seems at least five years younger! Tilly has not lived with other pets before and would be best suited to a home as an only dog. She really loves company and would like someone to be around for most of the day. It’s thought she’d be happy living with sensible older children. Naturally, Tilly wants a secure garden, as well as regular exercise, lots of home comforts and cuddles!

Tilly has no history of illness. Her entry vet checks revealed that, like many smaller dogs, she has luxating patellas but these don’t need any treatment and are not a cause for concern – just no marathons or agility please for ‘lil Tils!
