Lovely Abbie and Megan are really stressed by the change in their circumstances and urgently need to find a new owner or a foster home to be going on with, together if possible or, if not, with a compatible friend in each case. They are being cared for by Chilterns Dog Rescue and look forward to being rehomed soon.

Abbie!

Abbie and Megan are totally bereft at leaving everything that is familiar to them and the thought of parting them at this advanced stage of their lives is hard to contemplate. A loving new home, or even a foster home, is urgently needed for these two lovely ladies where they can be together and quietly enjoy the last of their golden years.

Megan!

Black Labradors Abbie and Megan are 12 ½ years old (dob 25.03.2010) and 14 ½ years old (dob 20.04.2008), respectively. They have shared the same home for most of their lives, but their elderly owners are going into care and, very sadly, can no longer keep them. It’s appreciated that their request to go to a home together is not easy, but if any older dogs deserve a second chance, surely it is these two?

Abbie and Megan are kind, gentle dogs who get on with people, children and other dogs. They enjoy a short amble and even a little play in the garden but, overall, their exercise requirements are very low. They are used to someone home most of the day but are happy to spend time alone together for shopping trips, etc.

Both Abbie and Megan have had excellent veterinary attention throughout their long lives. They are inoculated and spayed and, while Megan is quite hard of hearing and a bit creaky and both dogs have some age-related changes to their eyes, they are in remarkably good condition for their age. If further tests are recommended by the vet, additional information will be added to this post.
