22/2/22 – Beautiful Ebbi has gone off to her new home!

Ebbi is a beautiful 12-year-old Labrador girl who came into the Oldies Club rescue because her owner was moving into a flat and couldn’t take Ebbi along. Ebbi is in a foster home in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset.

Brilliant in foster: Ebbi settled into her foster home straight away, like she’d always been there.

Can be left for short periods: Ebbi’s fine to be left for a few hours, but wouldn’t want to live with full-time workers.

Good with dogs: Ebbi likes other dogs and would be happy to live with a calm and mature canine friend who wouldn’t pester her.

Unknown with cats: There are no cats in her foster home, so we can’t say first-hand how Ebbi is with cats, however her previous owner told us that she was fine with cats.

Good with older children: Ebbi is good with children and could live with ones aged about 7+ who are well-supervised and know to not pester or disturb dogs.

Excellent on walks: Ebbi is brilliant on walks and has great recall. She is very slow though and enjoys off-lead walks rather than pavement walks. The only thing to be aware of is that she is a poo eater given the opportunity but will leave it if told. Ebbi is currently having half-an-hour to an hour, off lead at the beach or park, once a day.

Good traveller: Ebbi is a very good traveller but she cannot jump in, and is not keen on using a ramp, so will need assistance to get into and out of the car.

Ebbi’s favourite things: Sleeping; kongs; tummy tickles; cuddles; going to the beach, woods or park. Food!

Ebbi’s dislikes: No real dislikes, but she’s not a fan of lead walking, especially when it’s cold.

Ebbi’s ideal home: She would love to be with someone who simply loves her. She would cope with another dog, but as she’s an older lady it would need to be similar to her. She simply wants cuddles and to be cared for.

Health notes: Ebbi is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and has been flea treated. Ebbi has had a dental and had to have 21 teeth removed. She has now been given the all-clear by the vet.

Ebbi’s foster carer told us: “Ebbi is gentle, easy-going, loving and friendly. Ebbi is an fab girl, almost faultless, I would like it known her one fault is she is a poo eater, so you have to clear up straight away, only saying this as I want whoever has this amazing girl to be aware so she does not become homeless again. She thrives on company, a warm kind home, she has a lovely nature is so friendly and a delight to have”.

If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
