Dear little Bertie (also known as “Shorty”) is originally from Romania and was rescued from the public shelter in 2019. He came to the U.K. in December 2022 and is now enjoying the lovely comforts of a foster home in Andover, Hampshire. He is looking for his forever home with the help of Romanian Rescue Appeal.

Bertie is a small, handsome, 7 year old Crossbreed, mainly white with grey/black/brown patches. A lot of love and patience is needed for Bertie to help him bond and form a good relationship. Once he has overcome his anxiety, there is a delightful, loving little dog in there, waiting to be your friend.

Bertie needs a home with people who will have the time and understanding to work with him to overcome his insecurities. He can be protective of his food, which can be common with dogs that have been on the streets and need to learn to trust people. He can be a little unpredictable, so he would be best suited an adult-only home.

Bertie is very good with other dogs and also has lived with a cat. He is fully house-trained. He does have a little arthritis in his feet and legs, but is still good for going on 15/20 minute walks. He is neutered and takes no medication.
