Cutie girl Jane is a small to medium sized Crossbreed believed to be around 7 years old. She’s in a foster home in Norwich, Norfolk through Safe Rescue.
Jane will need a confident companion dog in permanent residence in her forever home to show her the ropes. She could live with respectful, dog savvy children aged 12 years plus.
Safe Rescue have gone to great lengths to help this lovely girl and it’s paying off now she’s enjoying a proper doggy life style. In January last year they went to investigate conditions at a private shelter in Romania and it turned out to be quite horrific and a traumatic trip. Jane was being kept in filthy conditions in a kennel with her long term companion Tarzan.
They built them a lovely enclosure at a far better shelter and moved them to safety. They’d been told that Jane was untouchable but soon found that this was not the case.
A year on and it was determined that she should come to the UK for a better life. She has adjusted beautifully to domestic life and is completely content to have spent the last few weeks of winter here in her bed by the kitchen radiator…… which is conveniently close to the fridge that houses the ham she loves!
Jane learns very fast. She cracked lead training in a single walk. She is comfortable being stroked by people she knows well in settled situations but doesn’t yet approach and ask for affection. This will come in time.
She’s still a shy dog but her cheeky character is really starting to shine through and anyone adopting her will have the privilege of watching her flourish into the happy girl she should always have been.
Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used.
