Adorable Maisie and Millie are 8 year old Yorkshire Terriers (dob 11.7.14). These lovely sisters have been together all their lives but are in need of a new home because their owners moved house and were unable to take the dogs with them.

Maisie!

Maisie and Millie have led a fairly quiet life and are unused to small children or cats. However, at the Rescue Centre, they have shown themselves to be very comfortable to be around unfamiliar people and other dogs and just a delight in every way. They have been used to spending many hours alone but, being such ‘people dogs’, they would obviously prefer to have someone home for much of the day.

Millie!

Maisie and Millie enjoy their daily walks and are calm on the lead. They would appear to have little experience of car travel but behaved well on their journeys to and from the vets. Both dogs had very matted coats on entry but loved their grooming and pamper sessions and are now looking much more respectable and ready to meet their new owner soon.

Maisie again ….

Maisie and Millie are inoculated, microchipped and spayed. Millie has had a small sebaceous cyst removed from her side which has left a slightly raised area which needs no further treatment at this time. Both dogs had dentals this week with some extractions. Maisie has no further health concerns. Millie has had ear infections in the past. Both ears were checked while she was under general anaesthetic for her dental. The previous problems have resulted in her ear canals being almost closed and there is some evidence of new infection which is being treated with a course of steroids and paracetamol to make her feel more comfortable. It is likely Millie has only a little residual hearing, which means she is quite dependent on Maisie for confidence and support.

Millie again …

The staff at CDRS are only considering a new home for Maisie and Millie where they can stay together, but one lucky person is going to have double the joy when they get to take home such lovely ladies.
