Please help Noel by sharing this page!
Dear old Noel is a medium-sized Crossbreed boy of about 9 years. He’s in a foster home in Thetford, Norfolk, through Safe Rescue. He could live with a dog-savvy cat or two and he would be fine with respectful children aged 10 upwards, as long as they understand about nervous dogs.
Noel had spent at least 7 years locked up in a public shelter in Romania. His foster family have been helping him build confidence on walks. They said, “When he arrived here he would only walk along the side of the garden supported by the fence as it had been so long since he’d been in an open space. We would take him to the middle of the garden a couple of times a day initially, at first he would scuttle on his belly right back to the fence line but eventually he hung around a little longer and showed an interest and now his fear of open spaces has been relegated to his past!“
Noel now enjoys walks in the woods. He hasn’t ventured anywhere with lots of people or traffic yet and his adopters will need to help him adjust to new situations gradually.
Noel would like to have at least one other dog at home to show him the ropes. He’s a calm and friendly boy who enjoys sleeping and eating best of all. He doesn’t yet enjoy fuss from humans. He will tolerate it but is content to be left to his own devices. He might learn to seek out human affection in time.
Noel asks for very little in life: a short walk once a day, a comfy bed and regular meals. He will show his gratitude, if not in affection, then in expressing how happy he is now that life has turn out so good after all!
Note: Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used.
