29/4/23 – Lovely Sheldon has found a home!

——————-

Soppy old Sheldon is a black and tan boy who is thought to be around 9-10 years old. He is in a multi-dog foster home in Malvern, Worcestershire for Nirina’s Dog Rescue.

Sheldon is a very affectionate, happy, bouncy boy. He could live with older children as he loves playing and getting fuss and cuddles, but is a bit boisterous for really small people. Although he’s been cat tested and didn’t react at all, it’s thought he better not live with cats as he is likely to want to play with them!

Sheldon can live with other dogs as he has done before. He’s good with most other dogs he meets on walks. He’s a bit forward in his enthusiasm to say hello which is not always appreciated by other dogs. He’s just really glad to meet new friends!

Sheldon loves his walks and generally walks nicely on the lead. He likes to snuffle and explore. His friendliness makes him keen to go up to people in case they want to stroke him and he can be strong on the lead if he spots a potential fuss-giver. He also enjoys a modest zoomies in a secure field. Life is just so fun!

Sheldon is currently a tad tubby but is gradually losing weight with a sensible diet and enough exercise. He wants an active home, a garden and people who will play with him. He’s only just learning how to play with toys so needs encouraging with that.

He does love a marrowbone. He’ll happily gnaw away at one for hours. He can be left for a couple of hours and is clean and quiet in the home. He loves going for car rides with his people! Gladly jumping in and looking forward to a family outing. A dog guard or harness and seatbelt clip are definitely needed to keep him in the back as otherwise he’ll try to get through to the front to be near you!

His foster carer said, “Sheldon is a real cuddle bug and he just loves to have attention all of the time. He wants to be close to you and will put his front paws on you to get some attention. He will do anything to please his humans. The cutest thing he’s done so far is when we went to the vets and he jumped up and sat on the seat next to me as if it was his place to be next to his human companion. His ideal home would be with an active couple who will keep him involved with what they do. He is incredibly loyal.”
