Lovely Labrador Teal is happily enjoying life in foster care in Gloucestershire in an adult family home with other dogs through Starfish Dog Rescue. He has spent his life as a working gundog and is believed to be 11 or 12 years old – he was not microchipped.

It’s sad to say this lovely dog has had a hard life. His body tells his story: lots of calluses on his body from laying on hard floors, fur worn away from his face from rubbing on the bars, fur very thin in places from flea bites, underweight and looking broken. Lovely, gentle Teal did not deserve to live his last days out in a kennel.

Teal’s nature is so lovely. He is a very unassuming boy who expects nothing and is the perfect gentleman with people and other dogs. He sleeps with two other dogs in a soft bed by the radiator and loves it. There is a woodland opposite and he has gentle walks there twice a day. Just in this short time, he is now much stronger and starting to trot.

Teal has been bathed and flea/worm treated. He is now on Yumove supplements and a good quality senior dog food. He will be visiting the Vets shortly to be health-checked and his profile will be updated after that time. Meantime, there are lots of lovely videos of him to watch here.
