Adorable boy Bobby is a 12-year-old Jack Russell X Dachshund who’s in a foster home in Hingham, Norfolk through Safe Rescue. He’s had a tough life and is entitled to be a bit picky about the type of home he’s looking for. It needs to be in a quiet area, in or near Norfolk or Suffolk and he needs a Mum. A Dad in the background would be fine but it’s almost certain that he will only form a real trust bond with a kind lady, due to his past.
Bobby wants a child free home and has not been cat tested. He tolerates other dogs and would be OK to live with one other compatible dog or would be happy as the only pet at home.
He loves his walks and needs an active owner who will take him out twice a day for a good length walk. He also needs an owner who is both confident and considerate about helping him through his fears. He has made amazing progress since being rescued and there’s every reason to believe his happiness will continue to grow with the right lady for him.
Safe Rescue say, “Bobby first came to us in June 2019 – he was a yard dog, and had very little socialisation with humans apart from being ill treated. He was not touchable for some time and once touched he would scream with terror!
“Over time he started to trust his fosterer and finally found his home with a lovely patient caring lady in 2019 who unfortunately became unwell and could no longer keep him. He came back to his foster mum in June 20 and was again in time rehomed to a lovely lady who adored him, she unfortunately became unwell and 2 years on he is now back again with his foster Mum where he is loved dearly.”
Bobby does like a fuss and to snuggle once trust is built up. He used to be afraid of visitors to the house but has now realised that, if his Mum likes them, they’re probably nice. He’s still shy of men but he is mellowing with time and experience of kind ones. These days, he’s so much more confident, he even shows his playful side sometimes!
Bobby is a special little boy who is a joy to be with and to see blossom into a contented soul at last.
Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used.
