Lily and Toby are an adorable pair of mixed breed dogs, aged 12 and 15yrs. They are the best of friends, having shared their lives for many years and are looking for a wonderful forever home together, by Dogs4Rescue. They are both friendly and affectionate with everyone and are described as wonderfully well behaved and polite around the house.

Both Lily and Toby are calm and non destructive and great with visitors to the home. They are sharing their foster home with cats and dogs and behave impeccably.

Lily and Toby could live with older sensible children and would love a little garden where they could wander and explore. They do however spend most of the day dozing and adore their home comforts. They do still enjoy their little walks, but despite their ages can still accompany you on longer strolls.

Lily and Toby love their walks

They both settle easily into new environments and are very cuddly, loving nothing more than to snuggle up to each other or even better, you ! They love it when you tuck them up under their blankets at night and if you have a heated blanket for them they will be in heaven !

Toby is a curious boy and loves to quietly follow you around and watch what you are doing, whilst Lily is simply happy to know you are nearby. Toby loves his squeaky toys and chewy treats, whilst Lily is more lady like and loves a gentle cuddly toy and softer snacks. Both are food motivated and would benefit from raised bowls to make it easier for them to enjoy their meals.

They sleep separately but will sometimes swap beds. They both hate the rain so no worry about them dragging you out in the wet !

Health notes-Both Lily and Toby are showing signs of getting older, and as with all seniors, have their quirks. Lily has some arthritis, is believed to be completely deaf and suffering from some sight loss. She can be a little unsteady and needs to stay on her lead when out.

Toby is partially sighted in one eye with the other having cloudy vision. He is occasionally reactive with horses and some dogs when on his lead, but has good recall if he can see you. He can be startled by loud noises

They both take joint supplements, and their fosterer has reported that YuMove has made a wonderful difference to they condition, especially for Lily. Both also need a little help with the stairs and getting into the car.

Lily can be incontinent, occasionally passing a little poo when sleeping or resting, more than likely due to her back issues. If she is let out to relieve herself late at night and early in the morning, this makes things much better

This wonderful pair clearly need an understanding and loving forever home with owner(s) who are prepared for the realities of caring for older dogs. Lily and Toby will however repay you with unconditional love and companionship in return.
