Little Tim was hoping to find a forever home with his best chum Tom, but sadly Tom has just passed away and Tiny Tim is lost without him and is really struggling. Dogs 4 Rescue are hoping that someone has a Tim shaped hole in their life, where he could be loved and find his happy place again.
Tim is 10 yrs old and a Chihuahua cross. He is a delicate and gentle boy, with a heart full of love just waiting for the perfect person that is prepared to take time with him and let him settle at his own pace. Having lived a very sheltered life until now, he is a worried little soul whose world has been turned upside down, not only in a change of environment, but now losing his best friend, for whom he is grieving.
He has only ever known life alongside other dogs, and being without canine company is something he simply cannot cope with. For this reason, Tiny Tim is looking for a calm, gentle home with at least one other friendly resident dog to help him feel secure. He draws great comfort from doggy companionship and needs that constant presence to feel safe.
Tim is frightened of men, so is looking for a female only home, so that he can settle and not feel overwhelmed. Neither does he like cats or other small furries. Any young people, resident or visiting will need to be 16+
Even though he is frightened, there’s a spark within him. Once he feels safe, Tiny Tim’s cheeky, animated personality begins to shine. Before the loss of Tom he started smiling and even playing with toys—a huge step for such a nervous boy. He’s not ready for walks outside and may never be, so he will need a secure garden where he can potter and feel the sun on his fur.
Tim would be the perfect companion for someone looking for a low energy, low demand dog, who loves nothing more than happy snoozing all day, as long as he knows his canine buddy is nearby.
He is still working on his toilet training and patience will be needed in the early days whilst he builds his confidence, but with routine and kindness and a quiet home full of love, Tim wil continue to blossom.
