As you can see, Ivy is partial to a cuddle ! Jerry Green Dog Rescue in South Lincolnshire are looking for her perfect retirement home where cuddles are plenty and she can be spoilt rotten and shown the love she deserves.
She is a large 10 1/2 yrs German Wire Haired Pointer and is such a gentle and affectionate girl. In her younger days she was a typical pointer, always on the go and ready to work, however, she now prefers the quiet life with spending time on the sofa dozing or snuggling up for a cuddle being her favourite pastimes.
Ivy would thrive in a quiet and calm home where she is the only dog and could live with older sensible and respectful children (all the more cuddles!) She would love a nice garden she could potter around in and some nice regular gentle strolls where she can check out the neighbourhood. She enjoys walking with other calmer and quieter dogs and would be up to making new doggy friends.
Ivy loves having her humans around but she is also comfortable being left on her own for up to 2 hours. So long as she has her bed to snooze on and the promise of cuddles when you get home, she will be very happy and will greet you with the waggiest tail you have ever seen !
Ivy is currently recovering from a chronic ear infection, and it’s thought it may have affected her hearing a little. But it doesn’t seem to have stopped her hearing biscuits being opened across the room and her quality of life doesn’t seem impacted at all. Ivy is partial to a biscuit nearly as much as she is cuddles …She will need some continued treatment for her ears to make sure they don’t become inflamed and itchy again, but the staff at Jerry Green would be very happy to talk to any potential adopters about what is involved.
It is clear that Ivy is a such a very special girl and deserves the very best as her forever home. Lots of love, kindness and yes, biscuits , will make her the happiest girl.
