Ben is a loving and gentle 10-year-old Golden Retriever who is in the care of Southern Golden Retriever Rescue (SGRR). They hope to find him a new home within NW Kent, so that he can continue visiting the rescue’s vet who knows him well.

Gorgeous Ben has an abundance of energy for his age. He absolutely adores people and, in his excitement to greet them, may sometimes jump up to say hello. Ben is great with children, and friendly with other dogs, making him a wonderful companion for a family home. Ben hasn’t lived with cats.

He loves attention and will happily roll onto his back for a tummy rub. Ben enjoys playing with toys, especially when you join in for a game of fetch or tug. He currently has two short walks a day due to a damaged cruciate. He can be strong on the lead, so he wears a harness to help manage his enthusiasm. Ben will need daily medication for the rest of his life and this will be supported by Southern Golden Retriever Rescue.

Ben would ideally suit a home where someone is around most of the time as he can become anxious when left alone and shows signs of separation anxiety. He has recently completed a weight-loss programme and is now at a healthy weight. He is fed twice a day and patiently waits while his meals are prepared.

Fully house-trained, Ben will go to the door when he needs to go out and may bark to let you know if you haven’t noticed. He understands basic commands and is an all-round happy dog with a loyal, affectionate nature.

Ben is ready to find the loving home he truly deserves — one where he can enjoy companionship, gentle exercise, and plenty of cuddles. Could you be the person to give Ben his forever home?

For his ongoing care, SGRR are hoping to place Ben within the NW Kent area so he can continue visiting their vet who already knows him.
