‘OLD DOG OF THE WEEK’ FEATURES NEW PHOTOS AND A FRESH WRITE-UP FOR AN OVERLOOKED OLDIE THAT HAS BEEN ON OUR WEBSITE FOR A WHILE BUT IS STILL WAITING FOR A NEW HOME.

Please help Raggie by sharing this page!
Raggie is a 10-year-old Crossbreed boy, small to medium-sized, currently in a foster home in Norwich, Norfolk through Safe Rescue. He came from a private shelter in Romania called Crivatu.

He can live with cats and would like at least one other dog at home but no children please.

Safe Rescue say, “Raggie lived his first year at Crivatu under a caravan, only coming out under the cover of darkness when no scary humans were around. Then for a while he lived feral and out of reach, and eventually he had to be darted to be given vaccinations and was then put in a pen which he learned to use as a base so he was more containable when he needed anything.

“For years he was only ever touched when under sedation, he’s doing so so well after only a few weeks here. He follows us around and is always within reach but still backs off when you put your hand out to him. He enjoys his walks and trots along beautifully and you can stroke him and groom him easily when he’s on a lead but he flinches terribly if you touch his head and face.

“There is something charming about this scruffy dog who is always around but not fully opened up to humans. He may never be an affectionate dog with people, but he is no trouble at all and asks so little.”

Please note – Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used. Full details of their rehoming policy are on Raggie’s Facebook album here.
