    24/11/09 Poor Alfie has died. He was living with a volunteer from Doris Banham Dog Rescue for his last few months so he had the best of care and went with dignity. Rest in peace, Alfie

  • Freddy (Manchester Dogs’ Home)

    14/6/09 Freddy has sadly had to be put to sleep.

  • Holly (Oldies Club Sponsor Dog)

    Poor Holly is showing signs of senility and has deteriorating kidney function. She also needs constant company. Despite this, Holly is a lovely sweet-natured little girl.

  • Buster (Oldies Club Sponsor Dog)

    18/8/09 – Sad news today….Buster’s heart was failing so he’s sadly been put to sleep. Sleep tight sweetheart.

  • Sophie (Mill Rescue, Lincolnshire)

    12/4/2009 Sadly, little Sophie became poorly and has been put to sleep. Rest in Peace old girl.

  • Sweet little Sian (Oldies Club Sponsor Dog)

    24/4/2010 Poor little Sian has gone to the Bridge today. Her health had deteriorated and she lost the use of her back legs. Run free Sian :(

  • Oscar (Oldies Club)

    Oscar was put to sleep on the 17th March after giving his owners “the best 3 1/2 years of our lives”.

  • Casper (Private rehoming)

    Casper has very sadly had to be put to sleep.

  • Grey (Ark, Lincolnshire coast)

    Gentle Grey has sadly lost his fight against lymphoma. He leaves his best friend, Lenny, behind in rescue after over a year of waiting for their chance of happiness.

  • Kim (German Shepherd Rescue Surrey, fostered Guildford)

    11/4/2009Kim’s foster mum has informed us that sadly, Kim has passed away. Rest in Peace old girl.

  • Josie (Dogs Home, Manchester)

    21.1.11 Beautiful Josie enjoyed two fun filled years with her loving new family. Sadly, she then developed an inoperable liver tumour and the decision had to be made to let her go to sleep peacefully and with dignity. Sleep tight, little Josie xx

    Update 24/11/09 We’re very sad to say that due to ongoing problems with an eye abscess, sweet little Benji has had to be put to sleep. We’re so very grateful to his foster mum for taking such good care of him. Rest in peace Benji.

  • Senior Snoopy (Oldies Club Sponsor Dog)

    22/4/2010 Snoopy has sadly passed away and will be greatly missed by his foster family who adored him. Sleep tight little chap. Snoopy is staying with his fosterer, as he is quite frail and has bonded closely with her: we feel it would be kinder not to move him on. Snoopy will require help with his arthritis medication so he has become a sponsor dog. *31.3.10 New photos of Snoopy

  • Billy Bob (Oldies Club Sponsor Dog)

    Gorgeous little Billy has a dry-eye condition which means he will need expensive daily eye drops and regular tests and check-ups for the rest of his life. We have therefore decide that Billy will stay in his foster home permanently as an Oldies Club sponsor dog.

  • Lucky (Dogs Trust, Merseyside)

    9/9/09 Poor Lucky has sadly passed away.

  • Gizmo (Dogs Trust, Merseyside)

    15/5/09 Gizmo has sadly died.

  • Rocky (RSPCA Macclesfield,fostered Wilmslow)

    15/3/09 We have received sad news today. Poor Rocky had to be rushed to the vets due to a haemorrhage, but sadly he had to be put to sleep. Run free Rocky.

  • Riff-Raff (Home-A-Dog, Gwynedd, Wales)

    28/3/09 Riff-Raff was found to have an aggressive tumour and he has very sadly had to be put to sleep.

  • Kye (AARU, Notts)

    2/4/09 – AARU have sent us this very sad update on Kye….”Sadly, Kye was a victim of his breeding, indifference by his previous owners and many, many months of pain and suffering with his eye condition. He developed into a possessive, aggressive and dangerous dog and no amount of care, behavioural training and attention could repair the damage to his mental health. Rest now in peace, Kye- so much loved by your foster parents and wept for by those who knew of your torment”

  • Super Scamp (Oldies Club, fostered Plymouth)

    3/11/09 Sadly poor Scamp has been suffering from dementia recently and has had to be put to sleep. He had a wonderful loving home, as you can see from his rehoming story here on the website. He will be greatly missed by his family. Sleep tight Scamp.
