Fosterers Needed
Have you got what it takes to be a fosterer for Oldies Club? We rely on our fosterers to assess dogs in their home and advise us on what type of home the dog in their care needs. Fostering may be only for a couple of weeks, while any medical care is given and while the assessment is made – or it could be for months, until the ideal home comes up. We take in dogs from all over the country – fosterers are needed everywhere – but we are especially low on fosterers in Wales, Scotland, the North and Kent […]

Changes at Oldies Club

Fiona has been our Chair since 2008, one of our foster coordinators, and an important member of the team right from the start, so we are very sorry to lose her as Chair and would like to thank her for all her hard work. The good news is that Amy Jones will be taking over as our new Chair. Among other things, Amy has been organising Oldies Club events and transport runs for several years and the Oldies […]

Please sponsor little Alfie to walk 100 miles for Oldies Club!
Alfie, this very cute little Corgi, is an Oldies Club supporter, who from 15-29 September 2012, will be walking 100 miles on his little legs, to raise funds for Oldies Club. It’s not safe for a little dog to be out walking on their own, so he is taking his lovely humans, Ray and Nora, who also support Oldies Club, with him. Ray has previously completed long distance fundraising walks for Oldies Club, so Alfie has an experienced long distance walker with him! Alfie would be very grateful if you would sponsor him. All donations are much appreciated. Please click HERE […]

Foster home FOUND for Tomi Waggytail
5/6/2012 Tommy is now settling well in a foster home in Watford, Hertfordshire, and getting used to the comforts of home. He’s a lovely lad, eager to learn and please Tomi is an active, cheery Staffordshire bull terrier cross who is currently in kennels. He’s a gorgeous boy but because he can be exciteable when first meeting other dogs and is strong on the lead, the Oldies Club has been unable to find a suitable foster home for him. Most of our old dogs are quieter than Tomi and our regular fosterers are not used to such a bouncy boy! […]

Why do dogs come into Oldies Club care? Video
Please view our latest video. This is a bit more hard hitting than usual but we want to continue to get the message out there that dogs in rescue aren’t broken – nine times out of ten, it isn’t their fault they end up becoming homeless. It would be a really good idea for all of us dog owners to have a think about what would happen to our dogs if we are no longer able to keep them, and plan ahead. This is definitely something to talk about with your family and friends. And please do consider adopting an oldie! […]
