  • A Pound a Paw Appeal

    A Pound a Paw Appeal

Could you spare a monthly donation by standing order to help our older dogs with veterinary treatment? £1 a paw per month (£4 per dog) would be ideal but any contribution, however small, is a big help to us. Our biggest expense is by far, veterinary costs. The majority of our dogs need at least basic veterinary treatment when they arrive in our care and many will need medication, dental treatment and possibly surgery for neglected or untreated conditions. We do not turn away sick dogs. We knowingly take dogs with health problems to help give them comfort and care in […]

Thank you for your support. Amber’s Amputation Beautiful Amber arrived in Oldies Club care with a huge lump on one leg. • Seeking Special Foster Home for Fabulous Frieda

Seeking Special Foster Home for Fabulous Frieda

Frieda is a beautiful 8 year old Lurcher girl who came into Oldies Club care after being found as a stray and ending up in a council pound. She had been at the pound for quite a while and nobody was interested in adopting her – so Oldies Club offered her a rescue place. Unfortunately although Frieda is really good in the house it’s become clear she doesn’t really enjoy living with the other dogs in her foster home. She’d be much happier as an only dog. We’d therefore love to hear from you if you might be able to foster […]

  • Could you Foster A Terrier?

Oldies Club regularly gets calls asking for help with old terriers – Yorkies, Jack Russell Terriers, West Highland Terriers and Cairn Terriers and crosses of these breeds are all popular dogs. Many of these are dogs that have come from elderly owners who have died or had to go into long term care, leaving their dogs with nowhere to go. Often they are used to being the only dog in the household and sometimes they can be a little feisty, as terriers often are! We would love to hear from experienced terrier owners who can look after them, all vet bills […]
