7/2/11 – Sadly Max’s health took a turn for the worse and it was decided that the kindest thing to do was to let him go. Sleep tight, sweet one.

Lovely Max thought he found his forever home, but sadly it was not to be. The resident dog in his new home just could not adjust to having another dog around, and unfortunately Max has been returned to the RSCPA Leeds and Wakefield.

Max is a 10-11 year old GSD cross with the most endearing pair of ears! He was rescued with his friend Flyntie after being left outside in poor conditions all his life. He then found a home and absolutely loved being surrounded by comfort and love. He is understandably very depressed to be back in kennels.

Poor Max has quite a few medical issues. He has a heart condition and arthritis for which he is on medication, and it is urgent that he finds a foster home within driving distance of the rescue so he can spend his remaining time in comfort.

Poor Max is really missing his creature comforts. He is just so sad to be back in kennels when all he wants is a quiet comfy home for whatever time he has left. He will need to continue going to the vet at the RSPCA when needed, which will be provided by the branch (for existing conditions). Aside from his heart condition and his arthritis (which has worsened in the last months), he also can struggle to hold himself when he needs the toilet.

Max is a really lovely boy, very friendly, good with other dogs and very affectionate. At the moment he is very sad and depressed, but is sure to perk up when he finds a comfy warm home. He is looking for a quieter household, only needs minimal exercise and would enjoy a garden to potter round in. He would love a warm bed by the radiator where he can snooze the day away.

Max just want to be loved and is in desperate need of a retirement home! This sweet boy should not have to spend his remaining time in kennels. Please, if you think you could offer him a comfy foster home get in touch with the RSPCA Leeds and Wakefield Branch as follows:

Please mention that you saw Max on the Oldies Club website.
