14/2/2012 Sad news from Kent Greyhound Rescue – Sky passed away peacefully in her sleep yesterday. Sleep tight Sky :(

This is Sky and she’s looking for a new foster home where she can continue to enjoy her retirement. She’s a nine year old greyhound girl who retired from racing some years ago. She came into the care of Kent Greyhound Rescue two years ago when her elderly family could no longer care for her and she was placed in long term foster care. Sadly, Sky’s foster mum is also ill, so Sky is on the lookout for another new place to rest her paws. Because she is one of Kent Greyhound Rescue’s sponsor dogs, she needs a long term foster place which means the rescue will pay all her vet bills. Sky can live anywhere in the UK provided the rescue can organise a homecheck and some transport for her.
Sky is very affectionate so she’s looking for someone who can give her plenty of cuddles. She enjoys short walks, but really just wants to be with you and have a nice big bed to snooze in. Although she loves attention, Sky is quite undemanding and easy to care for and she doesn’t mind being left for a few hours. She could live with another dog and older children, but she’s looking for a home without cats.
Sky can be quite fussy about what she eats so the rescue think she may have been fed on human food in her previous home. All she wants is a comfy retirement home with someone who will give her plenty of TLC in her twilight years.
Sky is spayed and she has Addisons Disease. Because she’s one of Kent Greyhound Rescue’s sponsor dogs all her vet bills will be paid for by the rescue.
