29/06/18 – We’ve heard brilliant news: pretty little Kimmy has gone off to her new home!

Pretty Kimmy is a 13 year old tri-colour Jack Russell Terrier girl who finds herself at RSPCA West Hatch Animal Centre near Taunton, Somerset, after arriving with a young male Staffordshire Bull Terrier following concerns for their welfare. Kimmy’s friend the Staffy proved a little too boisterous for such a sweet old girl and so she is looking for a quiet home of her own. She could potentially live with a calm, gentle dog though.

Kimmy would like new owners who live a quiet life and ideally have some experience with older dogs. A secure garden would be lovely for Kimmy to potter in and she would love it if her new owners were around most of the time to keep her company. Kimmy has become a favourite with staff and volunteers at West Hatch; she loves attention and will make someone a lovely little companion.

Little Kimmy was born with a deformed foot and her nails had become overgrown requiring veterinary care. She is now moving more freely but will always need only gentle exercise and on occasion will need to be carried if the situation requires it.

Kimmy has a history of flea allergic dermatitis, which is caused by an allergy to flea saliva. She will need a monthly spot-on (a high quality one from your vet, not shop bought) and an occasional steroid tablet to keep her skin healthy. It is possible that she might get flare-ups of itchy, inflamed skin or patchy hair loss that would require veterinary attention. Kimmy has a quiet heart murmur which is not currently affecting her quality of life. She is neutered.

Could you offer little Kimmy the love and TLC she so deserves?
