4/8/20 – We have been inundated with enquiries for Bisto and cannot accept any more. Thank you for your interest but please consider another needy oldie!

Beautiful Bisto is around 10 years of age and she’s a delightful, playful Parsons Jack Russell Terrier girl who came into the Oldies Club rescue as her owner was very ill. Bisto is in a foster home in Northamptonshire, waiting for someone to offer her a fabulous forever home.

Note please that we can only accept applications to adopt from within a 2 hour travelling distance of Bisto’s foster home.

Bisto’s ideal home: She would like a friendly, loving home, with her people around for the majority of the day. A home where she will get the playtime and attention she needs and then the chance to rest when she wants to would be perfect.

Doing well in foster care: Bisto has been at her current foster home for 2 weeks. She soon settled in, within about a week. She is continuing to come out of her shell and has found several favourite places to rest.

Can be left for short periods: Bisto has only been left on her own for an hour as her foster carers wanted her to settle before leaving her for longer. They feel that Bisto would be happiest in a home with retired people or part-time workers.

Fine with other dogs: Bisto stayed for a couple of nights at a foster home with other dogs and there were no problems. When out walking she ignores most dogs unless they are aggressive and then she will bark back.

Chases cats: Bisto does not appreciate cats and will chase them. She was fine with the poultry at her temporary foster home though.

Good with visiting children: Bisto hasn’t lived with children but she has been fine when meeting them. She would be happy to have well-behaved children visit her new home.

Loves walks: Bisto is very good on the lead and her recall seems good too. She is having three 30-minute walks per day and she seems very happy with this.

Not keen on the car: Bisto gets quite panicky in the car so is only going for short journeys at the moment, with the time being built up gradually.

Bisto’s favourite pastimes: Playing with tennis balls and tug-of-war with socks. Bisto is an amazing catcher of tennis balls and will bring them to you to play.

Bisto’s dislikes: Sudden loud noises.

Health notes: Bisto is neutered, microchipped and has started her vaccinations. She has been wormed and had flea treatment. The vet has advised that Bisto should have a dental and this will be done in early August. She has no current health issues and is not taking any medication.

More from Bisto’s foster carer: She is beautiful, loyal, gentle and amusing. Bisto is a well-loved dog who will give someone lots of loyalty. She’s a very gentle, obedient girl who knows the commands to sit and lie down.

If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
