25/4/21 – We are chuffed to hear that lovely Alfie has now found a new home!
Alfie is a very sweet 10-year-old Labrador Cross boy who is at Jerry Green Dog Rescue‘s South Lincolnshire centre in Boston, Lincolnshire.
Poor Alfie is not coping very well in kennels as he finds it a stressful environment, bless him. He’d love a home where his new owners are around most of the time, especially while he is settling in to his new home. Eventually he may cope with being left for a couple of hours, once he is used to his new home and routine, but he isn’t going to be suitable for people who go out to work.
A quiet home would suit Alfie as he’s not looking for anything too busy or active. He has a few age-related aches and pains, which the rescue will be happy to chat about if you enquire. It doesn’t stop him having a trot around, so he would like a home with a nice secure garden where he can play with his toys. He’s on the large side of medium and weighs just under 25kg.
Alfie needs to be the only pet in his new home. He can get a bit frustrated with other dogs when they get really close to him and tends to vocalise this a bit. He has had quite a sheltered life so is very anxious about going into new spaces and environments. He needs really patient, lovely owners who will take their time with him and allow Alfie to settle at his own pace. He may be able to live with children aged KS4+, pending introductions.
Could you offer this dear old boy a lovely quiet home and your companionship?
