23/3/22 – Bernie has been adopted!

This very handsome gent is called Bernie and he is a Spaniel/Collie Cross. He was taken into a vets for euthanisation after a few days of vomiting, but happily the vet decided he was in good health and had quality of life, so he was signed over and came into the care of South East Dog Rescue in Kent. He has been in good health since then in his foster home.

Bernie is 11 years old and has been neutered and microchipped. He is a very sweet and sprightly gentleman who needs a home to call his own. When he first arrived in rescue, he was naturally a little confused and paced around for while, wondering if his family were coming back for him. One of the volunteers took him home to foster until he finds his perfect, furever home. He is house-trained and had no accidents in the home.

Bernie absolutely loves his walks and easily manages a 40 minute walk around the local lake. You will need to be physically fit and confident walking him. He has been on walkies with a little female Frenchie who wanted to be friends, but he is also quite happy flying solo. After his walks, he likes to chill out on a nice bed.

Bernie will need a quiet home with a garden where someone is around for most of the day and patient during his settling period as he does not like to be left alone. He will not settle being left downstairs alone so also must be allowed to sleep in the bedroom. He’s happy meeting up with other dogs on walks but needs to be the only pet in the home to keep all the cuddles for himself. As SEDR have no knowledge about any interaction with children, he is looking for an adult-only home though sensible teenagers would be okay.
