Raffles is only a baby – 12 months old – and he’s a complete dude who gives the most unbelievable kisses and will try to sit on your lap thinking he is still tiny. Sadly, Raffles’ start in life was horrific, full of pain and suffering, and yet it hasn’t affected his temperament or outlook on life. He is such a happy-go-lucky pup.

Poor Raffles when he was rescued

Raffles came to Evesham Greyhound & Lurcher Rescue (EGLR) with horrific injuries. Both front legs had been broken and left to fuse; he has been through so much.

He’s now had lots of operations and is well recovered and ready to find a forever home. He’s a bundle of joy who loves life and will be a fabulous dog for the right people.

Raffles needs a home where there is at least one other young and playful dog that will tolerate his endless playing. He has boundless energy and his new home will need to have piles of toys for him and also a paddling pool for the summer.

Raffles will need small and steady increases in his walking to build up the muscle tone and strength in his legs. He loves being out and about, meeting and greeting, and he thinks everyone is his friend. He doesn’t comprehend being told off by humans or other dogs.

You will need to be around a lot of the time, and have patience, time and energy. You will need to understand that he has missed out on so much of his puppyhood that he is now reliving it. Raffles is 99% housetrained but on the odd occasion forgets himself and pees on a mat.

Because of his exuberance for life, Raffles is too bouncy for children younger than teenagers. When he does chill out you will find him asleep on the sofa.

Raffles is a very special dog and whoever adopts him will be very lucky. He is not for the faint hearted though and if you have no grey hairs now, you may have some after a few months!

Could you offer Raffles a fun life with a playful canine friend or two?
