Beautiful Bobby is an 8-year-old Collie cross in the care of Safe Rescue. He’s in a multi-dog foster home in Norwich while he waits for a very special and lucky person to find him and be his human soulmate.
Poor Bobby was a street dog in Bulgaria where he and his two siblings were caught and went into a shelter where they grew up. One sibling was adopted from there and went to live in Germany. Bobby and his sister came to the UK with Safe Rescue. She has been adopted but Bobby is still waiting.
Bobby can live with other dogs but would also be happy as an only dog. He is wary of cats so could probably live with a confident one after a careful introduction. He wants a quiet life with not many comings and goings, so an adult-only one would be best. He enjoys walks in nature very much!
Now, the thing with Bobby is, he seems to bond very strongly with one person and one person only. When it’s just him and his human, he is playful, eager to please and extremely soppy!
However, what with having such an insulated life with little human interaction, as soon as someone else is about, Bobby shuts down. He retreats and his expression freezes in a please-don’t-hurt-me sort of look.
It’s very sad and hopefully he’ll relax a bit with time and kindness. It might always be the case though, that he will be devoted and at peace with his owner…
…and nervous in the presence of anyone else.
For that one lucky person, Bobby’s snuggles await…
Note: Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used.
