29/7/23 – Lovely Mona has found a home!
————-

Mona is thought to be between 10 and 12 years old and she is with Hope VMS in a foster home in the Malvern, Worcestershire.

Mona is a beautiful girl who didn’t have the best start to her life. She was rescued from a kill shelter, with her puppies, and the experience of that environment has left her very scared and timid. It has taken the rescue over a year to gain Mona’s trust and help her become the dog they knew she could be. Mona is slow to trust and she appears very timid at first. But once she gets to know you she will love you for the rest of her life. And she gives the best cuddles ever!

She is a chunky girl at 30kg and could probably benefit from some weight loss. Mona is a crossbreed but there is definitely some German Shepherd in her.

Mona loves peace and quiet and she doesn’t need too many walks. One 30-minute walk per day, or even every other day, is more than enough. Her foster family say that she adores their garden (especially the shady bushes) so she is needing a home with a nice garden for her to enjoy. She’s been through a lot, so if you have a busy household, Mona is not a girl for you. She needs a quiet, relaxed home in which to enjoy her golden years.

She would be OK to live with one or two dogs of a similar age and activity level, but she has no patience with puppies and young dogs, probably due to her many pregnancies, her last one being as a senior mum, bless her heart. She is unknown with cats. Mona travels well in the car, especially in a crate; she has been crate trained. She is OK to be home alone for a reasonable time, but you would need to build up to this slowly.

Mona is spayed and is on medication for her liver and arthritis.

Could you offer this beautiful, very deserving senior lady a quiet home with a relaxing garden?
